Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. is the lead the way of Islamic banking in Bangladesh. It was established on the 13th March in 1983. It is the first Islamic Bank in the South East Asia. Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd.  is listed with Chittagong Stock Exchange Ltd. and Dhaka Stock Exchange Ltd.

Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd.  is the largest private banking network of Bangladesh. It was the first bank in south-east Asia to offer banking service supported on Shariah when it was established. IBBL assembles around 27% remittance of the country. It has at list three hundred and four branches.

IBBL is a corporation of the Bangladesh government. It is joined with twenty two businessmen of Bangladesh, investment firms and Islamic Development Bank, and banks from Muslim Middle Eastern countries.
